2016-2017 Retreat Information
Philharmonic and Symphony Orchestras

Date and Location: Sunday, August 14, Butler University, Indianapolis, IN - approximately 9am - 5pm

Concert Orchestra

Date and Location: Saturday, August 13, Hilbert Circle Theatre, IN - approximately 9am - 3pm

Members will be given information about where to meet for their first activity upon arrival.
Bring: instrument, music, folding stand, pencil, and any instrument specific items (mute, rock stop, rosin, extra strings, repair kits, etc.)
Lunch will be provided.  Meat and vegetarian options will be available.

What to Expect
Either lunch or dinner is included in the retreat fee. Usually deli subs and/or pizza is provided for lunch.

Each orchestra will have both full rehearsals and sectionals with breaks throughout the day at the discretion of the conductor

Bring your pencil, music, instrument, folding stand and any other supplies you might need (i.e. rock stops, rosin, spare strings, etc.)

There will be parent meetings for each orchestra where calendars and other forms and information will be handed out.  Come and get your questions answered.  This meeting is for both new and returning parents! 

Why do we have the retreat?
The retreat offers each orchestra a chance to kick off the season and welcome back young musicians. You will get to see old friends and make new friends, but there will also be intense rehearsal time. The retreat is an important start to the season and is required for all members.
